| Description | The dataset provides weights of the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP). A weight is the relative share, expressed in per mille, of household monetary consumption expenditure for goods and services belonging to a given elementary HICP aggregate. The higher the weight, the greater the impact of the price change at a given level of goods and services classification on price changes at a higher classification level. The main sources for compiling the system of comparative weights are national accounts and data from the household budget survey on household monetary expenditure on consumption goods and services. Other statistical data sources are also used: to estimate unrecorded household expenditure – statistics on domestic trade, transport, tourism, energy, social statistics, and statistical information from other institutions and enterprises; to detail the monetary consumption expenditure of resident households and visitors from abroad – industrial, domestic and foreign trade, education, transport and tourism statistics, and statistical data and information from other enterprises and institutions. HICP weights have been calculated since January 1996 and are processed monthly. For questions related to the data, please contact atverimas@stat.gov.lt.
