| Description | The dataset provides the total number of unique licences by qualification from 1996 onwards. The data source is the Register of Licences for the Practice of Health Care and Pharmacy Specialists (LICREG). Annual numbers of specialists are calculated as follows: 1) the licence was valid for at least one day in the year; 2) if a specialist holds several different licences, they are counted under each of them. Average age is calculated as: 1) age is the difference between the year of birth and the reporting year; 2) for each qualification, the average age is the arithmetic mean of ages of all specialists with that qualification. De‑identification: if the annual number of specialists with a given qualification is 1, their age is not shown. These data are not official statistics. In Lithuania, a health professional licence is an official document granting the right to practice a particular type of health care; it confirms that the professional meets qualification requirements and may legally provide health care services.
