| Description | The dataset provides data on the poverty risk rate of persons aged 18 and over by activity status groups and education. The aim of calculating poverty indicators is to produce national absolute poverty indicators and poverty risk and social exclusion indicators comparable with other EU countries, to monitor their changes and identify population groups most likely to experience absolute poverty, poverty risk and social exclusion. Poverty indicators are based on data from the survey on income and living conditions. No classifications are used. Statistical observation unit: private household and persons aged 16 and over who are members of private households. The statistical population covers all Lithuanian private households and permanent residents of Lithuania. Persons living in institutional households (care homes, family-type care homes, correctional institutions, monasteries) are not surveyed. Geographical coverage: statistical information is prepared at national and regional levels; the indicator “Share of persons living at risk of poverty or social exclusion” is also available at county level. Time coverage: absolute poverty indicators – from 2016; share of persons living at risk of poverty or social exclusion according to the current definition, severe material and social deprivation rate, and education level – from 2021; other indicators – from 2005.
