| Description | In the Electronic Archive Information System (EAIS) of the Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania (LVAT), documents and data related to the National Document Fund (NDF) are managed centrally. The NDF consists of documents created by state and municipal institutions, agencies and enterprises, authorised persons, as well as documents of state institutions and enterprises that operated in Lithuania in different historical periods, documents held in state archives, and data from state registers and information systems significant for the national documentary heritage. This dataset contains only part of the EAIS data – fonds and inventories of files they contain. These data correspond to the NDF descriptions available via the EAIS digital reading room at https://eais.archyvai.lt/repo-ext/search, where inventories can be used to find accounting units (files); an accounting unit covers one or more documents, some of which can be accessed in the digital reading room. The oldest documents date back to the 13th century. The dataset is planned to be updated monthly. Data provider – Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania.
