| Description | Statistical information is provided on the number of places in accommodation establishments by hotel category, type of accommodation, administrative territory and period (year). The statistical observation unit is the accommodation establishment (local kind-of-activity unit). The target population consists of legal entities providing classified* accommodation services, regardless of their main economic activity, in the following NACE Rev. 2 Section I groups: 55.1 – hotels and similar accommodation, 55.3 – camping grounds, recreational vehicle parks and trailer parks (hereinafter NACE Rev. 2 Section I, groups 55.1, 55.3). Statistical information is compiled at the national level. Time coverage − from 2012. *According to Article 31 of the Tourism Law, accommodation services are divided into: 1) classified accommodation services – motel services, camping services, guest house services, hotel services; 2) non-classified accommodation services – hostel services, rural tourism services, holiday home services, private accommodation services, sanatorium accommodation services, tourist ship accommodation services, tourist camp services. Classified accommodation services may be provided by an accommodation service provider that holds a valid accommodation services classification certificate issued in accordance with Article 33 of this Law. The minimum number of rooms or pitches of a classified accommodation facility (hereinafter classified facility) is at least 5 rooms or pitches. Classified accommodation services are classified according to the classification requirements for specific accommodation services approved by the Minister of Economy and Innovation. According to the quality and diversity of services provided, the quality level of classified accommodation services is indicated by stars, where a higher number of stars means a higher quality level. The highest quality level of classified accommodation services is indicated by five stars. The quality level of hotel services may additionally be marked with a plus sign.
